The Photonics Cluster (UK) has now established a base in the South of England. Located at the Hertfordshire Business Incubation Centre in Stevenage, the base will complement the expanding facilities and programmes delivered by the cluster from its HQ at Aston Science Park, Birmingham.

The new southern base, which has regional Enterprise Hub status, has already attracted a growing list of partners including Astrium, GlaxoSmithKline, Eastern Aerospace Alliance, North Herts College and the University of Hertfordshire. Photonics Cluster members include Lambda Photometrics, Elliott Scientific and Armstrong Optical with the most recent recruit to the cluster being Optical Engineering, a division of MBDA based in Hitchin.

Simon Littlewood, Business Development Manager at HBIC is the clusters nominated interface with southern based photonics companies and end users of this technology. Adam Tucker positioned on the left forms part of Simon’s Business Development team who will facilitate joint activities in support of Photonics Cluster (UK).
