The Photonics Cluster (UK) has now established a base in the
South of England. Located at the Hertfordshire Business Incubation
Centre in Stevenage, the base will complement the expanding
facilities and programmes delivered by the cluster from its
HQ at Aston Science Park, Birmingham.
The new southern base, which has regional Enterprise Hub status,
has already attracted a growing list of partners including Astrium,
GlaxoSmithKline, Eastern Aerospace Alliance, North Herts College
and the University of Hertfordshire. Photonics Cluster members
include Lambda Photometrics, Elliott Scientific and Armstrong
Optical with the most recent recruit to the cluster being Optical
Engineering, a division of MBDA based in Hitchin.

Molony- Trade Marks
Think of a trade mark - got one? Is it a word? Most likely it is
a word, after all the vast majority of trade marks are words. The
best words for use as a trade mark are made-up words, unusual words,
or words used out of their normal context - for example, KODAK,
NIKE or ORANGE.
Accelonix
Accelonix has secured a worldwide agreement with Invenios to produce
parts using a unique, proprietry 3D glass writing process developed
for the US space programme that has many applications in photonics,
optics, diffraction gratings, embedded waveguides and other micro/nanostructure
applications.
